Megan Wolfe

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Megan Wolfe moved to San Francisco, California in 2002 to pursue an education in visual art. In 2007, she graduated with a BFA in Fine Art from the Academy of Art University.

In her most recent body of work, Wolfe's interests in literature and life-span development are especially present. Employing memory and symbolism, she renders her works, her "allegories", in pencil, choosing to utilize the natural grainy quality of the paper's textured surface. Through such symbols as birds, lamps, and doors, she examines our relationship with time, light, and mortality, finding continual inspiration in how these relationships change through the natural aging process.

Currently, Megan Wolfe works and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
